Kirk Smith Research Group
Professor Kirk Smith Professor of Environmental Health Sciences and holds the Maxwell Endowed Chair in Public Health at the University of California, Berkeley. His research group focuses on environmental and health issues in developing countries, particularly those related to health-damaging and climate-changing air pollution, and includes ongoing field projects in India, China, Nepal, Mexico, and Guatemala.
HED Consulting
This UK-based consultancy provides advice and training to organizations planning, implementing and monitoring improved cookstove projects. It is committed to developing viable, sustainable and scalable initiatives, and to ensuring careful monitoring of impacts on human welfare and the environment. HED Consulting works with a range of UN, NGO and private organizations on donor and carbon-finance initiatives.
Gold Standard
The Gold Standard Foundation is a non-profit that operates a certification scheme for premium quality carbon credits. It registers projects that reduce greenhouse gas emissions in ways that contribute to sustainable development and certifies credits for sale on both compliance and voluntary offset markets.
Sri Ramachandra University (SRU)
Located in Chennai, the Department of Environmental and Health Engineering at SRU works to develop integrated environmental strategies to address indoor air pollution and its damaging health and environmental effects as well as document its risks.
